Since receiving emails and dm’s regarding my life and the world of Fashion, I have decided what better time to dive right in.
Q: How did I get started in Fashion?
A: I started in the beauty industry first and recognized a need for helping women with accessories, which then turned into me having trunk shows where women could shop apparel also. I started blogging and started to help with styling for events and fashion shows, etc. Here I am today!
Q: What do I do for a living
A: I am a licensed Manicurist, Owner of Fashion Savvy Beauty Bar, Personal Stylist, and Personal Shopper
Q: Would I recommend owning a Beauty Bar/Salon
A: Depends. I love having a space I created to be creative and provide an experience for women, but it is a lot of work, time, and energy. Please make sure you have a GREAT passion for the industry and all it entails.
Q: Am I a Twin
A: Yes, I have an identical sister, and we are four minutes apart. I also have a brother that is 14 years younger than us.
Q: How often do I shop
A: I shop every day; it’s part of my job. LOL! Seriously for myself, it just depends on the season and if I need anything. I am into curating a closet that I will love and not wasting money on items I will not wear. I want to know that whatever I choose to put on, I will love it for years to come. Quality over quantity. I don’t want a bunch of STUFF!!
Q: What is my favorite item I own
A: I am a vintage collector, so I have to say my grandmother’s pleated navy dress that she gave me and a red leather ostrich clutch bag that I used to carry more until someone had a cigarette near it, and I almost went to jail!! She’s tucked away for safekeeping.
Q: My favorite color
A: Most people think it’s black because I wear it often, but it’s Kelly Green and Chartreuse.
Q: What does your closet look like
A: Please see pics below
Q: What are my favorite stores to shop at
A: Farfetch, Net-a-Porter, Fashionphile, Gilt, and any Vintage store, to name a few
Q: Do I think women should invest in a Personal Stylist
A: Yes, If they want to push the fashion bar, if they second guess often, if they need assistance with events, daily looks, and don’t have time to figure it out!
Q: Is it expensive to hire a Personal Stylist
A: Priorities. It could be expensive to stop at a fast-food restaurant daily or have beauty services done weekly, but people pay for what they want. If you want something, you will make it happen!
Q: What would I tell my younger self
A: STOP procrastinating!!! If you think about it, you can do it. I used to overthink thing’s often, which would have me second guessing what I wanted out of life.
Q: What’s something I will not wear on a date
A: Jerseys or leggings. As much as the leggings are the go-to comfy everyday look (not for me), it’s not for a date. They make so many different pants, skirts, and dresses. Pick one!
Q: What do I wish people would do more of
A: Put their clothes on!! I am not saying you need a ballgown for the grocery store, but why not a nice look with a bit of effort behind it. As one of my girlfriends says, your future could be there if you’re single.
Q: What’s your everyday go-to look
A: Black pants or denim jeans, round neck sleeveless tee, motorcycle jacket, flat slides, lipstick, bag
Q: What’s a quick look for dinner
A: LBD, Pencil or pleated skirt, tee, blazer, pump or bootie, clutch, red lips
Q: Style Advice for women
A: Ask for help and be prepared to invest in timeless items. Stop buying trendy pieces with poorly made material. Learn your body shape and play upon your best assets. Ask yourself, do I feel good wearing this? Remembering all attention isn’t good attention.
